With Swiss wood high up in the air

On 29 September 2018, the world’s highest 3S railway was inaugurated. The new 3S-Bahn increases the transport capacity from the dry jetty to the small Matterhorn by 2,000 guests per hour. In just nine minutes – from the “Trockener Steg” valley station to the “glacier ride”, Europe’s highest mountain railway station at 3,883 metres above sea level.
The neue Holzbau AG supplied the primary wooden structure for the valley and mountain station.
