At the double kindergarten in Riehen, wood (larch) from local forests was used on a large scale. The pavilion, a pure wooden building, is a great source of identity and offers the children many experiences of perception and impulses for their own ideas. The striking roof shape is a visual reference to the children’s book “The Three Robbers” by Tomi Ungerer.
